Anyone think there was any chance Kevin Durant would return to Texas? Well, as the Associated Press put it, "No chance. The kid is leaving for the NBA... Durant, an 18-year-old freshman and The Associated Press Player of the Year, said Tuesday he will leave the Longhorns to enter the June draft, bringing a quick end to what was a short but spectacular college career." Durant is definitely a top 10, probably a top 5 pick. Phenomenal talent.

Nobody in their right mind thought he would be back. You have to love how these guys will say that they haven't made up their minds when they have had this in mind since they were in high school. Durant said how much he loved college and that he was considering returning. It would be interesting to see just how many classes he attended, never mind passed.

Well, according to an article at TexasSports.com, "When the local media asked him to comment on his 3.0 GPA in the fall semester, he smiled and said he took pride in his academic work. Then he quickly added, 'but I'm still upset I got a 'C' instead of an 'A' in a minority leadership class. I need to do better this spring.'" I read elsewhere that at one point, Durant's GPA was as high as 3.5. So the kid did pretty well at school, all things considered.
