| Durant named AP Player of the Year The Associated Press has named Kevin Durant of the Texas Longhorns their 2007 NCAA Player of the Year. According to the AP's announcement of the award, "Durant, the smooth 6-foot-9 swingman who finished fourth in the country in scoring ( 25.8 ) and rebounding ( 11.1 ), is the first freshman to win the award since it was created in 1961." Was he the right pick?

| Re: Durant named AP Player of the Year Yes he was. The only other player I would have considered was Oden and you can't argue against either. First freshman to ever win the award in it's 46 year history. Wow, that's an accomplishment. |
