| Brian Robinson Pro Day Brian Robison is a senior defensive end at the University of Texas. At 6-foot-3 and 259 pounds, he was also the national runner-up in the shot put at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. A three-year starter at defensive end for the Longhorns, Robison impressed scouts by turning in the best workout among defensive ends at the NFL Scouting Combine. At the combine, Robison recorded a 40.5-inch vertical, 10'1" broad jump and 27 repetitions of 225 pounds on the bench press Quote:
I think I did a very good job at the combine—probably a better job than a lot of people expected me to do. Overall, there were some things I could have done better, but I feel like I couldn't really ask for anything more. I think I could have run the 40-yard-dash faster, and I definitely feel like the pro shuttle could have been faster. I had a problem with cramping towards the end of the pro shuttle, so that slowed me up a little bit. And obviously my bench press could have been better.
Right now, I'm doing a lot of linebacker drills, making sure that my hips are back accustomed to dropping in pass coverage. So I'm making sure that I get my hips down to where I have that ability. I've played defensive end the last few years, but right now I'm putting more of an emphasis on linebacker drills, because obviously I've got to get back in the groove. I'm mainly doing linebacker drills just to show my versatility; I'm one of those "tweener" guys that can play either position. I'll also probably work on the bench a little bit more.
My schedule consists of working out everyday at 9:30 a.m. for two to three hours, then I'll come back to my apartment to eat lunch and get in a little rest time before heading back at 2 p.m. to work out for two to three more hours. That will be the routine until the Pro Day on March 21.
