| Re: Recruiting: Texas Longhorns Analysis: After a couple of Februarys of hitting ground-rule doubles, the Longhorns hit a home run this year. If it pans out, this has the makings of UT's most dynamic crop since the famed class of 2002.
Big catch: Big, powerful and athletic, South Grand Prairie's Tray Allen has been billed as the top offensive line prospect to come out of Texas in years.
Sleeper: DE Sam Acho toiled in obscurity at a private school (St. Mark's in Dallas) but could make a name for himself as UT's pass-rusher of the future.
Quick impact: Curtis Brown starred a cornerback in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, despite not playing that position much at Gilmer. He should have plenty of time to shine there for the Longhorns.
Coach Mack Brown says: "I would think there would be more players from this class who can play early than some of our other ones. It's more like the 2002 class than other ones we've had." Best crop since 2002?...that's a tall order...Are we seeing the makings of a national championship team for 2010? |
