COLLEGE STATION - The Texas Longhorns turned Monday night's first half into a charity event, scoring half of their points from the free-throw line.
Thanks to a near-perfect performance from the line, the Longhorns clawed back from a 14-point deficit and briefly led early in the second half.
"We were right where we wanted to be," Texas coach Rick Barnes said after a 100-82 loss to sixth-ranked Texas A&M at Reed Arena.
With UT trailing only 78-73 with less than seven minutes remaining and with two of the Aggies' starters out of the game, Texas' D.J. Augustin and Kevin Durant couldn't convert a pair of one-and-one attempts.
