AUSTIN - The 2006 Texas Longhorns found their quarterback in Colt McCoy but lost their running game.
They beat Oklahoma again, but lost to Texas A&M for the first time since 1999 and couldn't find their way back to the Bowl Championship Series.
The No. 18 Longhorns (10-3) hit the 10-win mark for the sixth straight season, but might not finish ranked in the top 12 for the first time since '99.
Now coach Mack Brown is searching for a new defensive coordinator and plotting a course that would get the Longhorns back into the national championship chase in 2007.
