The Texas Longhorns may have lost all five starters from last year, but hopes remained high for this year’s squad.
Most of that optimism surrounded freshman Kevin Durant, who has somehow delivered on the massive hype by averaging 21.2 points and 9.4 boards through the Horns’ opening 10 games.
But Durant is far from the only frosh doing the job for the baby-faced Texas squad. Four of the team’s top five scorers are first-year players and the seven freshman who have seen the floor this season are responsible for 65 percent of the team’s scoring.
