| Longhorns basketball Texas won the National Championship in football this year, and with a 80-55 blowout of No. 16 Kansas on Saturday, it looks as though the Longhorn's 7th ranked men's basketball club is set to claim their first Big 12 championship in seven years. They improved to 24-4 overall on the year, tying a university record for the most wins in a regular season.
Two questions here: 1. Can Texas beat either Texas A&M or Oklahoma to break that regular season win record? and 2. Will they be a No. 1 seed come tournament time? I think the answer to both is yes. They should at least be able to beat the Aggies, and I bet they'd love to get some vengeance on the Sooners for that Jan. 28 loss. Either way, with victories over No. 3 Villanova, No. 4 Memphis, No. 14 West Virginia, No. 18 Iowa and now the 16th ranked Jayhawks, they've proven themselves as a good pick for a No. 1 seed. |
