| Gene Chizik to Iowa State
Gene Chizik, who has been serving as the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for the Longhorns, has been named the new head coach of the Iowa State Cyclones. According to the AP, the 44 year old Chizik, who will replace Dan McCarney at the ISU helm, "agreed to a six-year deal worth $6.75 million, with incentives that could push his total package to more than $10 million. In addition, Iowa State has earmarked $1.5 million plus incentives for Chizik's assistant coaches."
