tough draws for Williams, Agassi at US Open

there were some tough draws for the US Open that might see the speedy demise of some favourite players.
Agassi will have to play Andrei Pavel in the first round. He'll probably win that one, but then he could face Baghdaitis, the runner-up at the Australian Open and semi finalist at Wimbledon, and if he moves past that one, he'll most likely see Andy Roddick in the 4th round draw.
Serena williams has hantuchova in the second round draw. hantuchova beat williams out in the third round in Australia. If Williams moves past her, she has Rogers Cup winner Ana ivanovic, and then Mauresmo most likely in the 4th round.
Both williams and Agassi have poor rankings this year due to injuries and no-shows. That means tough draws.

Cool Re: tough draws for Williams, Agassi at US Open

I'm just a very casual tennis fan but it seems to me like Serena doesn't take the sport seriously anymore. She's more interested in her acting career than anything else. Am I wrong?

Re: tough draws for Williams, Agassi at US Open

Acting, fashion design, modelling, partying...
Serena never took it completely 100 per cent seriously ever (Venus, as well), and she did well for a short time. She is so strong. But the commitment wasn't there at all.
That's why someone like Martina Hingis is so inspiring - tennis is it for her and she gives it, as the hockey players say, 110 per cent...

Venus has pulled out, citing "lingering left wrist injury".
