Greg Rusedski also bows out in the first round. This will most likely be Rusedski's last show here. he's got torn cartilage in his hip and surgery - which must be done- will most likely end his career.
Rusedski's an interesting Canadian story. he is Canadian but he left canada in 1995 to play for Britain because he was fed up with our federal sports organization, the lack of support. It's true, we don't put enough money into our athletes in Canada. Anyway, he can be quite bitter about it - ie nasty - but this time around, he was very gracious about supportive Canadian fans.
He's ranked 72 this year, after once being 4th in the world.
And hey Ivan lendl was inducted into the Rogers Cup hall of Fame. he won the Rogers Cup up here 6 times. I always liked him.
