Rafael Nadal's summer keeps getting better. He won an Olympic gold medal and then unseated Federer as the top ranked tennis player when ATP rankings came out Monday.
Nadal won 6 tournaments this year and goes into next week's US Open as the favorite to win his 3rd straight Grand Slam. He has won 38 out of 39 matches in tournaments and beat Federer in the finals of the French Open and Wimbledon this summer.

At this point, with the slump Federer is in, one has to wonder if he'll ever regain the top spot.

I wonder how long it will last. Both are fantastic tennis players, however I think Federer will come back and take number 1. All I can say is, the Wimbeldon Cup could be real exciting the next few years....

For now I think Federer cant reclaim it until next summer. Nadal won so many tournaments and even now he is favorite for USO. He will gain even more points.
