| sharapova's out of the Olympics, US Open she won her match in Montreal on Wednesday after almost 3 hours but she had to pull out due to two tears in the tendons of her right shoulder. She will not go to the Olympics of make the US open. bummer of an end to this grand slam season.

| Re: sharapova's out of the Olympics, US Open no but I think pulling out of both of these tournaments must mean a long recovery time - she will be replaced by number 11 ranked Vera Zvonareva at the Olympics. Sharapova joins the list of Mauresmo, Pierce and Roddick as no shows in beijing. |

| Re: sharapova's out of the Olympics, US Open yesterday Sharapova said on her website that she probably won't need surgery and could be ready to play in two to three months. apparently she's been playing with a torn rotator cuff since spring. she's going to do rehab and strength training. |
