Cool Tennis: Martina Hingis Comeback

INDIAN WELLS, California (Ticker) - Former No. 1 Martina Hingis faces second-seeded Lindsay Davenport in a fourth-round match at the dual-gender Pacific Life Open on Tuesday.
The 19th seed in the $2.1 million women's draw, Hingis has beaten the likes of Russians Svetlana Kuznetsova, Anastasia Myskina, and Maria Sharapova in her comeback attempt which began in January after a three-year absence because of ankle injuries.
But the 25-year-old "Swiss Miss" has not played Davenport during her comeback bid and is 10-14 all-time against the American. Davenport won the last two meetings and eight of 11 before Hingis' injury forced her to the sidelines.

Well, it looks like the Swiss Miss Hingis is having a good time on the comeback trail…She has collected a few major scalps this year. Anybody out there think this baseliner will make it back to number 1? The women’s game has changed a bit since the time when she ruled? Does she have enough pop in her serve?

Re: Tennis: Martina Hingis Comeback

Tennis was drowning her before she quit-she didn't know how to deal with the Williams' sisters, the power - that wasn't what she was about. well she took time off and she rebuffed and she's back and she's better - that's what i think. And the williams' sisters are GONE - they're there but they're not, not really. her real opponents will be the belgian girls, Clisters and Henin-Hardenne.
My husband has this major crush on the swiss miss.

Blueandwhite girl tell him to move over, I saw her first...Miss Sharapova ain't got nothing on her ...but I do believe your analysis is right on the money....maybe there's a job for you next to Johnny Mc in the booth.
