Nadal is out
Mikhail Youzhny a 54th ranked russian beat him, 6-3, 5-7, 7-6(5), 6-1.
If Nadal and Federer had made it to this finals, they would have been the first pair of men to meet in three consecutive Grand Slam finals in one season.
Nadal gave it up. Now either roddick or Hewitt will play Youzhny.
Federer is still in, though, and will meet Blake in the quarter finals.
