Re: Tennessee QB Erik Ainge

After two weeks, Ainge is 35-47 (74.5%) for 624 yards, 7 touchdowns, 2 INTs and a passer rating of 226.6. Statistically, he's one of the best QB's in the country at this point in the season. How would you compare his performance thus far with some of the other top QBs in college football? How's he stack up with Quinn, Leak, Brohm, and others?

Aren't we throwing Ohio State's QB into the mix?...he has been hot of late...I think Ainge has suprised me the most thus far.

Re: Tennessee QB Erik Ainge

Well, I didn't mention the Buckeye's Smith because, with all apologies to Vols fans, I don't see any way Ainge can even compare to him at this point. But hey, if you wanna throw his name into the discussion, that's cool with me Goth. So how about it, Tennessee fans?

Re: Tennessee QB Erik Ainge

I have been very impressed with Ainge so far. He has shown great improvement from last year. I won't be completely sold until I see what he does i nthe Florida game.

Re: Tennessee QB Erik Ainge

While it would be awesome to think that Ainge could compete for the Hypesman, I don't think many of us are imagining that right now. He's had 2 very good games with almost no stupid mistakes.

If he's got us 7-0 after the Alabama game and is still the nation's highest rated QB, still looking awesome... maybe then you'll hear me talking about the Heisman. But I'll probably be too busy thinking about our SEC & BCS chances if h carries to 7-0. We'd realistically only have a couple of regular season games to worry about if we can get that far.

Re: Tennessee QB Erik Ainge

Troy Smith is overrated.

The reason he continues to look like a gem, is because he can run, and because he has the fastest recieving corps in football. He is good, but not as good as Quinn.

Re: Tennessee QB Erik Ainge

Smith looks tremendous though and Quinn only looks good.

Ainge surely has the potential to be a top national QB somewhere down the line.

Re: Tennessee QB Erik Ainge

I've made it to East TN and I'm on drugs (root canal on Monday) but I'm gonna predict that Ainge has a HUGE game today.

UT's pass protection is a big part of the difference in today's game. No sacks on Erik in the 1st 2 games and Florida has only been able to manage 2 sacks against their 2 opponents.

I see Ainge coming out of today's game as one of the nation's top 5 QB's.

Re: Tennessee QB Erik Ainge

I can't really agree with the huge game today. Sorry, but I hate to say I just don't see a HUGE game today.

Re: Tennessee QB Erik Ainge

I think he had a good game. Our offensive and defensive line were weak, no doubt about it.

You'd better start saying no to drugs! Leak WILL win the Heisman this year.

Re: Tennessee QB Erik Ainge

The drugs didn't help. We still lost.

Plenty of balme to go around but the final grouding call against Erik was the last nail in the coffin in the UT Florida game.

Welcome to GoTeamsGo, UrbanTheSavior. Look forward to chatting more with you even if I am a little bitter today.

Re: Tennessee QB Erik Ainge

Ainge didn't look to bad his first throw was horrable but the rest of the game he was pretty solid. He threw the ball away when he should and made decent throws some were to players not paying attention. If he had some blocking he might could have won the game for us. Leak didn't look that good there is no way he should be in the Heisman race.
