Kudos on the thrashing Bama gave to the already beaten Auburn Tigers today. Seriously, I think they may beat UF now based upon their performance against FSU.

Lane Kiffin may not be the future for UT. It may be a long and expensive trip to get the right coach at UT. Many are crying over today's last game for Fulmer but Johnny Majors did not get a last game, no hugs, no party, no nothing.........Let us not forget that what comes around goes around.

Now, where will Kiffin get his staff? I am hearing that Oljeron (sp?), Ole Miss's old coach, may be a selection for DC. Any thoughts?

He better find a way to recruit or he will suffer the Fulmer curse.

You are right about the recruiting. Kiffin will be competing w/ Saban, Meyer, Richt, & Spurrier for SEC talent. It will not be an easy task either. The Fulmer curse came also from the fact that he did not know how to develop talent..... Honestly, I was very touched by the win today against UK. I don't see how those two players carried his fat arse on their shoulders though! Geez, somebody should have brought out a wagon or something!!

Kiffin is a great hire, he never got a fair with the Raiders and is a great offensive mind, but the only real concern is can he recuirt the other side of the Mississippi, he's been in So Cal his whole college career, can he recuirt Tennessee and the South

Re: VOLS New Coach

Kiffin recruited the whole US while at SC. He should do fine.He will also play Freshman. That will help recruit "BIG TIME". By the way sorry Stoney but the Gators are going to clobber ya'll. If Bama can win it will be a BIG upset. Saban has done a "GREAT JOB" but I think Florida just has the hosses to pull off the win.

Do you know how many times I have heard that sort of tripe? For 20 plus weeks all I have heard is about how somebody was going to do us in and they all failed Florida is just another team to beat. Saban is going to show you how to dismantle Tebow. I guess then you'll be singing the praises of Oklahoma.

Re: VOLS New Coach

Florida and Oklahoma IMO are the two best teams in college. I would consider it possible for ya'll to beat Fl. but it would be about like Tn. beating ya'll. I just don't think it will happen. I'll wish you good luck anyway though.

Bama beating the Gators would be exactly that, not expected but possible. The Gators are playing the best ball in the nation currently, in spite of the lackluster win against FSU in the nasty weather. Bama upped their play against Auburn and beat them the way they were expected to......

UT's future will depend upon whether (son) Lane Kiffin can convince Papa Kiffin to give up his DC slot w/ the Bucs. I say if Monty comes, it will give the whole program a huge boost!! I am excited but not putting all my eggs in one basket. Go Vols!!

He stated in his press conferance he was wanting to build a fence around the state of TN, more or less he wants first dibs on the best talent in TN. He spoke of recruiting nationaly and that there wasnt anywhere he wouldnt go to get the best talent. He also mentioned the fact that he was willing to play freshmen. All of this sounds good as long as he can get it done. I am not knocking Lane or doubting what he said, I think out of the coaches we had to choose from he was a top pick. Im excited about what he brings with his offensive background, and only hope he can get his dad here for DC. Tenn will give him time to get his ducks in a row and then we will see how it goes.VOLS RULE!!!!!

Re: VOLS New Coach

Most of UT's talent base does not come from Tennessee. I think this is very unfortunate for the team to not obtain more in-state talent. I don't think he will have any trouble recruiting especially if they can turn in a 7-win season next year & be competitive when they lose. Go Vols!!

Re: VOLS New Coach

He will find there are a few athletes left in-state. He would be better served recruiting in Atlanta. There are plenty of kids between Knoxville and Atlanta.

Re: VOLS New Coach

Have to agree with you there Stoney. Tn. just doesn't seem to have the "Big Time" players other states do. We need to get the best Tn. has but we really need to pick up the Big recruits from other states also.
