But thats just me thinking, I sure hope so though. VOLS RULE!!!!!
I think you are right. It would certainly give immediate legitmacy to our program & it would help greatly w/ overall recruiting.

And besides all that he is one heck of a coach. I liked the Chief, but I like this guy also. And Lane will probably need a boost on the defensive side of the ball when it comes to recruiting.

Hey, how many of UT's defensive players are returning? They typically have several go pro every year. Just curious.

He is coming and bringing the Tampa 2 Defense with him. Unofficially he attended a breakfest given for Florida Highschool coaches and spoke about his love for teaching young men how to play football. The 68yr old Kiffen is stumping for Tennessee even if he isn't official yet.

Re: VOLS New Coach

!5 minutes... that says it all... your season comes down to the last 15 minutes. They had the brass ring and let go of it. There was no catastrophic injury to explain this. There wasn't a huge fight that got players ejected. They have no good reason for letting go. Sure the refs decided to show up in the fourht quarter. But you shouldn't be committing penalities to begin with. Nick Saban lost control of his team and they panicked. They had the ability, they had the lead, they had the physical conditioning. Yet inexplicibly they lost... If Florida had of just controlled them the whole night long this wouldn't be so bitter a pill to swallow. Florida was NOT the better team. They did have the better leader in Tebow. Alabama failed to gut out a win when they needed it the most. Now the season is over regardless of what happens in the Sugar Bowl it doesn't mean anything. We had the shot... and failed the last 15 minutes.

If we have some recruiting success, this thing could get interesting in Tennessee. Lane is at it wide open, I like the attitude. Having both Kiffens at Tenn is the best end result we could possibly have hoped for when we decided to change coaches.(finally!) VOLS RULE!!!!!

Re: VOLS New Coach

Things are starting to get exciting at Tenn. I sure hope we can at least get competitive next year and then maybe win a couple of the tuff games the year after. It will be so good to win a few games against the Fla., Ga., and Fl.

I think a 7 win season if very possible next year, anything past that I kind of doubt. It will take time to get everything in place and the new system in place. We need a great recruiting class this year.

Do we really need a great recruiting class. I'm kinda of the opinion that with the right coaching we might be in pretty good shape. Not great but ok.

I think we are OK talent wise for next year, except for QB. They all played shakey at times. But, we dont want a one or two year gap in the talent pool. Lane needs to have success recruiting right away so there is no gap that we pay for a year or two down the road. His father IS coming to Tenn, that will help a lot, especially on the defensive side of the ball.VOLS RULE!!!!!
