Tennessee gets two votes in the Top 25 ESPN.com's Power Rankings

We have all seen them at some point in time. If you are a true college football fan who happens to surf the internet you have undoubtedly come across the Rankings on ESPN...

ESPN - NCAA College Football Polls, College Football Rankings, NCAA Football Poll

WTF...how is Tennessee gonna get any votes at 1-2...im very disappointed...and it just goes to show you how biased these people really are...

I agree...I speak against the SEC a lot, but I really do respect the power houses that the have...but unfortunately this year Tennessee is not one of them.

No, its the point I am trying to make...The SEC, however good they might actually be (and believe me, I know they are freaking good) is still overrated...how a team that is 1-2 could get two votes just goes to show how much confidence the public has in the SEC. Dont get me wrong, I think Tennessee could end up ruining someones chances at a National Championship...but they are not top 50 even in my book.

Check out the Harris Poll this week...

As Bad as Tennessee is, I can understand the momentum they bring from past teams as far as public opinion goes...so I can kind of understand why they would get a vote or two...

but UTAH getting a vote for 1rst place...HOLY ****...WTF

The media as a whole is so far from being centered it is unbelievable. They vote on the polls like it is a fashion show or something. The facts are still the facts Alabama has beaten 3 ranked opponents nobody else has. Yet Texas jumps over them what is this a replay of 1977?

You evidently are'nt familiar w/ the saying"You have to beat the man to be the man" Texas was ranked in the top 5 and beat the #1 team in the nation therefor they earned the #1 spot, Bama had a bye and they are ranked where they should be Bama is having a great season and if they go undefeated they will get their chance at the Title so quit your cryin'.

So I guess when Texas loses to Missouri that Missouri is #1 right? I call BS on the people who are voting. I saw the game and Texas has no defence and neither did Oklahoma. Defence wins championships. Look it isn't hard to understand you move up one possibly two positions in the poles. When you are #1 and you lose you fall further than three spots. It is a wacky way to do things.

Re: Tennessee gets two votes in the Top 25 ESPN.com's Power Rankings

well lets see we have been in every game so far this year besides the gators game we should have beat ucla, auburn and if it wasnt for the two terrible calls by the reffs against georgia tennessee would of had a shot to win that one so it's not like tennessee is a terrible team i actually think tennessee is a good team with bad luck and i'll admit that nick stephens is the better qb he just needs to stop letting the ball get tiped at the line and the vols need to start calling some more passing plays deep down field because nick looked very accurate with the long ball against georgia and let me remind you it was his first start against a ranked team,an sec team, and on the road against an sec team so i believe stephens has learned alot from that game and he handeled the pressure very well i can only expect him to improve along with the vols.

Re: Tennessee gets two votes in the Top 25 ESPN.com's Power Rankings

Me, I think you ought to be winning some in order to get votes in the polls. I bleed orange and all that stuff, but we do not deserve any votes right now. I agree that Tenn. is not nearly as bad as they have looked.Starting Crompton was the worst of the mistakes at the beginning of the season, But there have been numerous mistakes. But lets see, new offensive coordinator, new starting QB(bad mistake),2nd new starting QB(will be very good), dont know whats up with a very good offensive line from last year, and you could go on. If they ever put a game together and everyone will finally get on the same page(your job to do this Phil), I think there is a great football team at Knox. But until we start winning some games, how can anyone call us one of the 25 best teams in the country. Its not unthinkable for Tenn. to end up a ranked team by the end of the year. We still have quality football teams to play to help us get back in the top 25, but not without beating them.
