KNOXVILLE -- The Tennessee Athletics Department released its 2010 football schedule Friday, highlighted by the first ever meeting with Pacific-10 Conference power Oregon in Neyland Stadium.

UT’s meeting against the Ducks begins a home-and-home series that concludes with a 2013 visit to Eugene. In addition, Tennessee’s 2010 contest with Oregon marks five straight years of Pac-10 opposition in the non-conference portion of the schedule (California 2006-07, UCLA 2008-09).

The Vols open the 2010 season with four straight home games, beginning Sept. 4 against an opponent to be determined. A game against Akron originally set to be the 2010 Tennessee opener has been moved to a later date. Other contests against Oregon (Sept. 11), Florida (Sept. 1 and UAB (Sept. 25) follow the next three weeks.

The remaining home schedule features Alabama (Oct. 23), Mississippi (Nov. 13) and Kentucky (Nov. 27).
