Time for some smart consistant play there and we may see a different Vol team in the next few weeks.
I hope they wait one more week before they wake up

I hope we show up and make a good DOG FIGHT out of it, nothing like a good dog fight huh? If this Stephins kid does well,(no stupid mistakes) it could be a long game for Ga. Maybe Ol Smokey will get to relieve himself on some hedges. Smokey is not happy with the way things have gone this year.

I think it will be a good game. Tenn and PhatPhil need to get it together and UGA needs to avenge last years beating not to mention that humbling experience caused by the Tide.

Im sure the Bulldogs are looking for someone to kick around. I just hope Tenn. comes and playes like the talent they have on this team. I think Phil will have them ready, he better.

That concerns me - we have saved his job the last two years. We have a chance because Cutcliff left. Not having Cutcliff is the reason Tenn is misfiring - they have talent

I really don't care what Phil has done in the past. For instance, look at Bama's illustrious past National Championships. They hired a plethra of coaches after their last championship, many of which were alumnus. However, their goal is winning SEC crowns & national titles not simply competing. Did Johnny Majors past matter when he was relieved of his position? No, the game ran off and left him.

Those boys looked dead in the UF & UCLA games. If you can't get up for the Gators at home, there is something wrong! Talent is not the problem. Everyone thought Randy Sanders was the problem several years ago but he wasn't (he was actually the fall guy for Phil but oh well).

I am not satisfied w/ doing well. I don't care to lose a close game but to get blown out at home by the Gators is uncalled for.

I don't know what it is going to take for Hamilton and the UT alumnus to wake up!

I join you in that sentiment. It's time for dough boy to hang it up.

If we get or arses handed to us against Ga, and Bama, I dont see how he can hang on. But, if he somehow turns this mess around like the last couple years, my guess would be that he stays. Its happened so much before. If we lose the next two games in the same fashion as Fla, how can they not let him go and start searching for the right coach. So, do you think Ga, and Bama hold Phils future in their hands? It would seem that way as mad as folks are right now.

That seems to be the consensus in my part of the state. Most folks want to do it now and spend the rest of the year fixing whats broke and give the new guy time to get his recruiting done for next year. People really want Phil gone. In the end every thing falls on the head coach cause he is the HEAD COACH.

Re: 2008 Tennessee Football Schedule

How do the players feel - that is likely the deciding factor. If they want him to stay they will play lights out - if they want him gone it could get very ugly.

Havent heard any quotes, probably wont either. That sort of thing would probably get a fella a seat on the bench or maybe on out of the stadium. They dont have the luxury to raise hell about stuff like we do. But if you go by the way they are playing right now, I would think 2/3 of the team wants him gone.

Re: 2008 Tennessee Football Schedule

I say that UT's best chance for a win is against UGA. If they lose to UGA, the rest of the season is a wash. This is Phil's only chance for redemption. They will lose to Bama for sure. If they lose to UGA, then Vandy, UK, and others will likely beat UT.

I find most fans want Phil gone. There are some loyal fans from Middle Tennessee area who have not taken off the Phil blinders yet & likely never will.

I don't think most fans care whether Peyton Manning comes to a game in support of Phil or not at this point. I can appreciate their friendship but a change needs to occur.

The only way for Phil to solve this in his favor is to win, and win a lot, and look good doing it.
