| Safety Berry gets SEC freshman honor KNOXVILLE — Strong safety Eric Berry was named the SEC Freshman of the Week after intercepting two passes against Arkansas on Saturday. The Fairburn, Ga., native returned the interceptions for a combined 98 yards, which gives him 207 interception return yards on the season. That broke the old UT mark of 177 set by Bobby Majors in 1970. Berry's 207 yards leads the country for any player regardless of class and is already third in SEC history in a single year. Former Florida standout Joe Brodsky had five interceptions for 244 yards in 1956. Berry leads the Vols with four interceptions and is the SEC's leading freshman tackler with 57. New role: Tennessee was listed as an 11½-point favorite against Vanderbilt on Monday night, which may have UT fans shuddering. Full Story
