UT suspends Coker again

KNOXVILLE — For the third time in less than a year, former Antioch High standout LaMarcus Coker has been suspended from the Tennessee football team for an unspecified violation of team rules.
Coker, a sophomore tailback, and defensive tackle Demonte' Bolden will sit out Saturday's game against Louisiana-Lafayette, Coach Phillip Fulmer said Wednesday. Both worked with the scout team Wednesday.
Fulmer refused to discuss details of the suspensions, saying only that the Vols "hope to have them back and ready for Arkansas," which visits Neyland Stadium on Nov. 10.
"It is what it is," Fulmer said. "We've got 83 other guys that are doing just the right things and a couple that didn't."

At what point do you just kick this guy off the team? I mean, three strikes already... how many chances does he get?

A source told the News Sentinel the decision to dismiss Coker came after he failed his fourth drug test. Under the athletic department's drug policy, a player is immediately dismissed

Yeah, I heard about this on ESPN last night. Good for Tennessee.

What else can you do? The kid's had ample opportunities to change, but hasn't. Kicking him off the team's the right call.

Some kids get it some don't. Sad to see such a talent go the way of Ricky Williams.

How much better do you think the Vols would've been if this kid kept clean and did the right things?

He played lights out last year so who knows. I wonder if he can transfer to a smaller school and play or is he tainted.
