| Cutcliffe: I called too many pass plays KNOXVILLE — Count Tennessee offensive coordinator David Cutcliffe among those questioning the Vols' play-calling on Saturday. Cutcliffe said Tuesday that he should have called more run plays in Tennessee's 59-20 loss at Florida. The Vols threw the ball 46 times while rushing for 37 yards on just 21 attempts. "I remember (former NFL coach) Dick Vermeil talking to me years ago, and he said, 'You've just got to call the run game and keep calling it for something to pop,' " Cutcliffe said."I have to fix it from that standpoint. You have to believe in it a little bit more." In particular, Cutcliffe was critical of an unsuccessful pass play he called on third-and-1. "I didn't like it when I said it," he said. "But that's an indication that you're struggling a little bit mentally as to what you're going to do. We'd already been stopped twice running the ball and got the exact looks we thought we would get and didn't make it.
