| Hurt Mitchell can practice again KNOXVILLE — Tennessee defensive end Xavier Mitchell was cleared to participate in full-contact work during practice on Wednesday, four days after suffering a concussion in the season opener at California. Mitchell, who was injured in a fourth-quarter collision with freshman defensive back Eric Berry, said he plans to play in Saturday's home opener against Southern Miss. The senior also said there is no concern about any possible residual effects of the concussion, which was his second in the last month, including one he suffered during fall camp. There has been some debate about whether some of Mitchell's equipment could be an issue. "The biggest discussion has been about my mouthpiece and helmet to see if that is a problem and what I need to do that way," Mitchell said. "I am sure if I get another one, then there is going to be a real issue with me getting back out there." Hurt Mitchell can practice again
