KNOXVILLE — Dan Williams weighed 360 pounds when he graduated from high school in 2004.
He knew he had to lose weight if he wanted to play football at Tennessee, and he spent that summer trying to shed pounds.

Once he got to Knoxville, he stepped on a scale. It read: 357.
A measly three pounds.
Williams is now a sophomore defensive tackle for the Vols. He's 55 pounds lighter, healthier, quicker, and on Tuesday he was promoted. Williams is now listed as a starter for Saturday's home opener against Southern Miss at 6 p.m.
The Memphis native moved ahead of senior J.T. Mapu on UT's depth chart this week after the Vols' defensive line played porously during their 45-31 loss at Cal last Saturday.
