I was about to say this will be an easy win but not after this last weekend..

Obviously this is a very winnable game for the Vols. The two biggest concerns: 1. Erik Ainge's broken finger, and how that will impact him going forward. He looked pretty good against Cal except for the early fumble. 2. The Vols defense gave up a lot of yardage, especially on the ground. Now, Southern Miss is no Cal, but they do have a running back named Damion Fletcher who ran for 156 yards and a touchdown in last weekend's win over UT-Martin. Obviously, Tennessee needs to contain him to win.

May I remind you SO.Miss has a reputation of being a giant killer just ask FSU. If Tennesee doesn't get thier chins out of the dirt So. Miss will pile on to the CAL embarassment. On the bright side you didn't lose to App. State!

Finally! A Vols fan who isn't going all "Chicken Little" because the team lost to the Cal Bears, who just happen to have some of the most explosive playmakers in all of college football. All I keep hearing is about how bad the Vols defense was. Guess what? A large part of that was because the Bears offense is just so darn GOOD! They have some places where they can improve, do doubt - so do most teams after Week 1. They're still gonna be in the think of the SEC race all season long.

So. Miss. is definately not Cal. I dont think Tenn. took Cal. lightly, nor will they take So. Miss. lightly. Cal. had explosive play makers at nearly every skill possition on the field. Its like Phil has said, " The best way to get over losing a game is to go out and win one". Tenn. will be ready for So. Miss and some corrections will be made on defence. I hope to see our young receivers make some down field catches and see our defence tackle better. VOLS RULE!!!!!

Tennesee has been known to get into a funk and as a result lose the game following a heartbreaking loss. Southern Miss is not a team to be playing around with. If they smell blood it could be a long day.

tennessee came into this season with a national championship in the minds i dont see them giving up after one loss and i expect to see tennessee go into next week ready to play and i also expect to see tennessee's D to step up as well.look at the bright side at least were not in michigan's situation.

They were ready last week, you have to look who they were playing. I know So Miss is no push over, but Tenn. will get things going this week.

Rabid, That's the same thing I have heard Florida State, LSU, Alabama, Nebraska, not to mention weaker SEC teams such as Ole Miss and Miss State who won't schedule Southern Miss anymore because of recruiting in-state. You may be right but we will have to wait until Saturday.

Knew this wouldn't be an easy game but feeling better as we get further into the game. Southern Miss always plays hard no matter who's field they're visiting.

I HATE not having this on TV. Kessling isn't bad on the radio but he's no John Ward.
