Ainge's broken finger proves to be least of UT's worries

BERKELEY, Calif. — Turns out the Vols had much more to worry about than a pinkie finger.

Whether playing for redemption, revenge or just pride, it worked for the Cal Bears on Saturday night. No. 12 Cal smacked No. 15 Tennessee 45-31 in front of a sellout crowd of 72,516 at Memorial Stadium in the weekend's most-anticipated game.

The last time UT gave up more than 45 points in a loss came against Florida in 1995 (62-37).

Cal also got its revenge on the Vols, who defeated the Bears 35-18 in the 2006 season opener at Neyland Stadium.

Re: Ainge's broken finger proves to be least of UT's worries

tenn's D was terrible and the offensive play calling could of bean better i didnt like the fact we wernt willing to throw the ball deep.our offense played good but for the amount of time cal was waisting every time they had the ball we could of tried going deep a few times to score a bit faster and get cals d stretched out some.if you look back on the game we mist a lot of tackles do to one arm tackles they need to learn to be a little bit more physicle.
