Tennessee Vols RB Coker suspended indefenitly

KNOXVILLE—Tennessee sophomore running back Lamarcus Coker, a former star at Antioch High, has been suspended indefintely by Vols Coach Phillip Fulmer.

Fulmer did not divulge details of Coker’s suspension.

Speaking of Coker, Fulmer said, “He must fulfill obligations to the program and to me before he can return. “

Tennessee's first game is Sept. 1 at California.

Coker led the Vols in rushing last year with 696 yards, and he also led all SEC freshmen in rushing.

See Wednesday's Tennessean for more details on the Coker suspension and how this affects UT's running game.

Hey John255 still feeling it? I think old rocky top is just about to come tumbling down. Fulmer is going to lose his job and then you will be looking and speculating about his replacement.

Aww Stoney, wouldn't be fair to St Nick if we came to Tuscalooosa with a full compliment of tailbacks, just trying to make him feel welcome

But seriously, it sucks that Corker's suspended but we all know that 1 man doens't make or break a team. And most teams have a few suspensions. The sky's not falling... yet

If you don't have a running game you might as well stick a fork in the season. I disagree a injury or suspension of a key player can break your season even before it begins.

Re: Vols tailback Coker suspended indefinitely

Maybe when your Bama a key injury or suspension can ruin the whole team's season, but in Big Orange Country we keep a stable of backs that can get the job done. Wait and see buddy. Hopefully Coker will fulfill his obligation to his team and get back to business, but if not, I don't think folks are gonna want any part of Aryan Foster the way they've been talking about him this off-season.
