Lady Vols sweep Georgia

The top-ranked Tennessee Lady Vol softball team swept Georgia Saturday afternoon.

In the second game, the Lady Vols (42-2, 13-2 SEC) rallied from a 1-0 deficit through four innings to post a 3-1 victory over the Georgia (31-18, 5-8 SEC).

Junior pitcher Megan Rhodes picked up her 11th win of the season by striking out eight and allowing just three hits and one unearned run in six innings of work.

Senior left fielder India Chiles continued her amazing day at the plate with a 3-4 effort, an RBI and a run scored. Senior center fielder Lindsay Schutzler delivered a 2-4 effort with an RBI and a run, while sophomore shortstop Liane Horiuchi registered a 2-3 performance with a score.

Wow, the Lady Vols win the NCAA basketball title, and the softball team is ranked #1 as well! Looks like women's sports are king (queen?) at Tennessee, eh? So can the Lady Vols softball team win the national title as well?
