Erik Ainge knee injury Tennessee head coach Phillip Fulmer announced Thursday that senior Erik Ainge has suffered an injury to his right knee, believed to be a torn meniscus. Fulmer said the UT Sports Medicine Staff continues to evaluate the injury and plans are being made for surgery... Should Ainge need complete removal of the meniscus, recovery of 4-6 weeks is expected. A repair of the meniscus results in an eight- to 12-week recovery period but would be better for his long-term mobility. KNEE INJURY SHELVES AINGE FOR SPRING; RECOVERY LIKELY BY SUMMER Last edited by Lefty Noob : 03-08-2007 at 08:35 PM.

Re: Erik Ainge knee injury Hey, hopefully we can see just how much UT's Coaches have developed or can develop yet another highly recruited player. Crompton was not someone UT picked up from Soddy-Daisy High yesterday. He was highly sought after & has the physical profile any major college desires. It is now up to our O' Coaches to develop him. Of course, when Ainge is ready to be come back regardless of his performance, he will become UT's QB. Personally, I never subscribed to Fulmer's philosophy of Sr. man rules regardless...I have always believed best man rules. That possibly explains why many Junior Coaches are now ruling over Fulmer?

Surgery Successful, Ainge Expected Back In 3-6 Weeks Tennessee quarterback Erik Ainge underwent successful surgery on his right knee Monday and has been released from UT Medical Center. Head Athletic Trainer Jason McVeigh reports that the torn meniscus cartilage was removed and he expects Ainge to make a recovery to full activity within 3-6 weeks. The Vols conclude their spring practice with the EdAmerica Orange and White Game on March 31. "This injury to Erik is not expected to impact the 2007 season or his long-term health in any way," McVeigh said. SURGERY SUCCESSFUL, AINGE EXPECTED BACK IN 3-6 WEEKS
