Vols facing same issues as Alabama

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. | It is a basketball team fighting for its NCAA Tournament life and worrying about the injury problems of its All-SEC junior guard.

And, for a change, it is not the University of Alabama.

The Crimson Tide still has plenty of work to do, and some nagging concerns about point guard Ronald Steele. But going into tonight’s game against the Tennessee Volunteers, the Crimson Tide can see the same sort of issues on the other side.

Tennessee is probably in solid NCAA shape with an 18-9 record, but the Vols -- like Alabama -- are 6-6 in the SEC and are coming off a 17-point loss at last-place South Carolina last Saturday. Furthermore, a high ankle sprain has hampered UT guard Chris Lofton -- who did play in the South Carolina game -- in his recent outings.
