So the Tennessee Lady Vols, who went 28-4 while playing one of the toughest schedules in the country, are just a #2 seed in the upcoming women's NCAA Basketball tournament? No wonder Pat Summitt is ticked off!

The Lady Vols (28-4) were selected as the No. 2 seed in an extremely tough bracket Monday night, a draw that includes overall top seed North Carolina.

Summitt called it "a slap in the face."

"We've built this fan base not on scheduling patsies," Summitt said. "We've built it on bringing in the top opponents throughout the country from a lot of conferences and our fans deserve that. We also think that to be the best you have to play the best."

She definitely has a point. The other top seeds included Ohio State (28-2), LSU (27-3) and Duke (26-3).

The Lady Vols definitely had better years that LSU and Duke. They're at worst the 3rd or 4th best team in the country. So how do they NOT get a No. 1 seed?

Yeah, its funny that both wind up with #2 seeds, when the ladies clearly had a better season than the men. I think that only makes it all the more unforgivable, really. Ultimately, I think this'll just serve as a motivational tool. Don't be surprised if the Lady Vols get fired up and win it all in '06.

Tennessee is becoming known more and more as a basketball powerhouse. Pretty soon, those guys over at Neyland Stadium will complain that you just can't field a competitive football team at a basketball school.
