Re: 2007 Tennessee Volunteers football schedule

are you guys feeling ok? becouse it dont sound like it.we will be in the top 6 next year easily.we only lost one game by one point by the team that went on to the championship and won.yes we ended up with more than one loss, but those other losses were becouse our starting Qb was INJURED.did you guys forget about that?and meacham was a good WR but his loss wont slow us down our recievers are still one of the most talented.we have a great RB and D-line.what possibly makes you guys even think about us having a 6-6 record?

There is no team in the SEC I hate any more than the gators. I think the Vols have a very good chance at an SEC championship, and depending on how a couple of games go maybe even more. But some how we allways find a way to drop at least 2 games. You have to agree though, its nearly impossible to go undefeated in the SEC. We could see a national championship with one loss. But we have some awful good teams we are going to have to beat. 10-2, with a SEC championship game.

Re: 2007 Tennessee Volunteers football schedule

Frankly, I seriously doubt UT ever making a "top 6" ranking until it changes its 30 year old offensive scheme. Heck, even Air Force at Neyland had by the bag until the last play.

Ladies & gentlemen, think about it...just how many times has UT gone outside that highly sophiscated, ultra complex, beyond pro o scheme in the last several decades? Honestly...name something outside the basic 8 plays?

Now if I can figure that out, what are the possibilities most Defensive Coaches know it when they show up against us? Again UT wins solely on its talent & depth. Unfortunately, Coaching has very very little to do with winning at UT.

With that explanation stated, I feel UT will lose to UC, UGA, UF, USC & I hate to say it UA. I'm just as certain someone else will push us to the limit, if not out & out beat us.

SEC Title Game...c'mon who do you think Coaches us?

you have know idea what your talking about do you because that 30 yr old offense gave use one of the best offenses last year.and saying air force was able to make a good game isnt backing up your statement of us not having a good enough offense.did you not see the score the vols racked up alot of points but do to some defensive injuries in that game they were able to score as well.and what makes you think were going to lose to uga and ua when we are a hell of alot better than they are.and are you forgetting how bad usc played the end of last year?and how about uc i dont even have a clue why you would think we would lose to them.

Re: 2007 Tennessee Volunteers football schedule

T1, with all due respect, I strongly feel UT's current Offensive Staff has absolutely NO ONE that has the creative savvy to overcome the likes of UF's Staff, UGA's Staff, obviously not USC's (Carolina) Football Staff.

My friend, I'm just speaking about within the SEC & more specific JUST the SECE.

I assume you are aware UT barely won against UK to end up SECOND PLACE SECE "winner" last year?

Re: 2007 Tennessee Volunteers football schedule

Look...w/o a lot of yack...UT's O' Staffs savvy can not compete w UF's, UGA's, USC's w/o some major changes.

Heck we had to fight like heck to end up 2ND PLACE in the SECE.

Re: 2007 Tennessee Volunteers football schedule

do i have to remind you guys this every day that the only reason we strugled towards the end of the season is because eric ainge went down and we had a QB in there who couldnt play worth a crap.we had a back up in during the lsu and arkinsaw game and we lost both games, and if ainge had never goten injured we could have won both of those games and ended the season with one loss and could have ended up 4th in the BCS standings last year.and may i remind you that eric ainge isnt known for his running abilities but for his passing,so thats the answer to you guys non sense about our offense not being creative.

Re: 2007 Tennessee Volunteers football schedule

Hopefully w/o insulting any true UT Fan, let's face it w/o major updating of our current (30 yr old) offensive scheme, UT can only hope to watch UF, UGA, & USC pass us bye-bye.

I won't even go beyond the SECE and obbious to most even the likes of a Penn State, coached by Grand Pa Pa Joe still can out coach UT's Staff.

Ainge or no Ainge...

Re: 2007 Tennessee Volunteers football schedule

Well, time will tell. But the way I see it everyone & I mean everyone has long since figured out our 30 year old o scheme.

With UF's Staff being as innovative as they are, w UGA having Richt & USC having you know who. I see UT remaining the stagnant, slow, easy to figure out team we have become.

Of course, talent & depth usually pulls us through rather than any coaching savvy our Staff offers.

With Eric or w/o Eric, the likes of those three in the inter divisional conference foes will keep us exactly where we are. Just look what Grand Pa Joe did to us in the Outback Bowl. Obviously, UT had superior talent, PSU had superior Coaches.

Re: 2007 Tennessee Volunteers football schedule

phillip fulmer coaches us you remember him won a national tittle oh yeah and theres that thing about one of the highest winning %'s of all active coaches thats who coaches us the man has one bad year and theres actually vols fans ripping him and asking for his head. it laughable phillip fulmer carried this program after johnny majors left. Hes one of the best things to ever happen to tennessee football. with that said i can honestly see an undefeated season for tennessee. Florida losing some guys bama is gonna be horrible if not next year soon nick saban basically cant reqruit in louisiana or florida 2 of the biggest reqruiting states in the country. The one that really scares me is south car I hate steve spurrior more than i hate the irs but he does have our number

Welcome to the forum, reggiecobb, and thanks for joining us!

Nice to see another Vols fan finally talk some sense. Fulmer's an excellent coach and if by any chance UT does wind up firing him, he'll be out of work for about two seconds before some other lucky program picks him up. If anything, he's become a victim of the high expectations he created, sort of like Marty Schottenheimer in San Diego and Tony Dungy when he was in Tampa.

Re: 2007 Tennessee Volunteers football schedule

RC welcome to the board, the more the better.

In regards to CPF's record, obviously it is above average. As far as comparing it to many others, he's not there...as of recent times. Unfortunately, that question...what have you done lately? is truly haunting.

Undoubtedly, CPF has NOT gotten the most from any number of highly (top, top 5, top 10) recruited classes in years.

An almost decade old NC is becoming faint in the big picture, especially when you consider UT has not won a major thing since.

Of course, there are those that feel we are on the verge of a major break through. Let me remind those that our last SEC game of 06 determined that UT narrowly ended up THIRD...IN THE SECE!!!!!!!!

As far as CPF being seriously recruited by ANY other college or pro team, I truly can not name the first one. Can anyone else?

I won't even embarrass ourselves reviewing the recent MAJOR Bowls UT's NOT won or even made. Let's face it UT's talent & depth has been our savior game after game, not a thing to do w innovative coaching.

As far as ANY college or pro team seriously recruiting CPF, I can't name one. Can anyone else

Re: 2007 Tennessee Volunteers football schedule

If Majors was still there the Vols would not be in the shape they are in now.Fulmer carried his team as far as he could and did well, but he hasnt did anything with his own team but give them a bad rep.
