University Of Tennessee Retires Bernard King's Number

The University of Tennessee Athletics Department announced plans Monday to retire Bernard King's number. King's number will be retired in a special ceremony during halftime of Tuesday's game against the Kentucky Wildcats.

Geez, I knew King had a pretty good pro career, but never realized what kind of college player he must have been. Says here he was a three-time SEC Player of the Year and finished his career ranking second all-time in school history with 1,962 career points and 1,004 rebounds. Impressive.

King's the first UT men's basketball player to get his jersey retired -- how about that? Who else is deserving of the honor?
