High school football: Donald picks Vols over Irish

Taking a break from playing in Saturday's nationally televised U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Huntingdon senior linebacker Chris Donald ended months of recruiting drama with four simple words.

"I'm going to Tennessee," said Donald, who announced he would sign to play football for the Vols on Feb. 7.

Donald, who is ranked the nation's No. 22 overall senior prospect by Rivals, said he picked UT over Notre Dame a few weeks ago, but didn't want to make it public until Saturday. Donald is the state's first top-ranked player to commit to the Vols since Chattanooga's Demonte Bolden in 2004.

he is from around here in west tn where i live and the last two seasons we played against him he has completely dominated a the LB position
he ran that Def.
only allowing us to 14 pts in 2 games against them
hes a hell of a play dont get me wrong

Chief sure can use the help. I hope he meets expectations. Seems like we've had some great looking LB recruits the past few years that were good but not great. Do you think Chris Donald has what it takes to be great at the next level?

this kids amazing he started playin Running Back as a freshman behind Boo Weathers who is now at a D2 school but he later commited both ways this guy could play the whole game if he wanted to he sat a #5 on rivals for the longest but i take that he dropped due to ACL problems he incountered at the end of the season
i believe he has what it take because he took my school out clean along with the rest of W TN
he graduated with a record of well over 80% win percentage going to 2 state champs not sure if they won or not but hes someone to watch here in the near future maybe not as a freshman but sophmore on up
