UT Vandy Game

Tennessee looks to return to its winning ways against in-state rival Vanderbilt Saturday, Nov. 18. Vanderbilt edged UT in Knoxville 28-24 a year ago, but the Vols lead the all-time series 67-27-5. Tennessee hasn't lost in Nashville since 1964. UT head coach Phillip Fulmer is 12-1 in his career against Vanderbilt. The Vols have averaged more than 36 points per game in the Fulmer era (1993-present) against their mid-state rivals, and the UT defense has shut out Vanderbilt five times under Fulmer's watch.

Re: Tennessee Vs. Vanderbilt

Vandy won the last meeting between these two, but somehow, I don't forsee them winning this year. Fulmer is 12-1 lifetime against the Commodores, and the Vols are 46-5 in the series since 1954. I predict a big UT win on Saturday. What do you guys think?

Re: UT Vandy Game

I think it will be a win but a struggle. They might win by 10 points but it will be a close game. I think Tennessee has been shown for what they are. A very mediocore team.

Re: UT Vandy Game

You should never count the Dores out as they have played some close ones this year. There is nothing like a victory to end the season and give some momentum for next year, so UT should be careful. Didn't vandy beat UT in Nashville back in 82 when Whitt Taylor was the QB?

Fulmer Says Vols Ready For Late-season Turnaround

From the sound of his voice after Wednesday's practice inside the Neyland-Thompson Sports Center, Tennessee head coach Phillip Fulmer can't wait for Saturday when the Vols vist cross-state rival Vanderbilt.

"I have really been happy with the preparation this team has shown on the practice field and the attitude they've had bouncing back from a couple of dadgum tough losses," Fulmer said. "It just really makes me madder than heck that we had to go through that without our best players."

Fulmer was speaking of recent injuries to offensive starters Erik Ainge and LaMarcus Coker, who combined to miss three games and played only sparingly when they did see action. He also might have been referring to defensive stalwarts Justin Harrell and Inquoris Johnson, both of whom were knocked out for the season in early September.

The Vols, 7-3 overall and 3-3 SEC, have dropped consecutive games to LSU and Arkansas, two teams currently ranked in the top 10. Next up for Tennessee is Saturday's visit to cross-state rival Vanderbilt (4-7 and 1-6 SEC).

"I like the way they've approached this week and I'm looking forward to one of our best efforts of the year against a good Vanderbilt team," Fulmer said. "It will take a darn good effort to get the win.

"These kids have paid the price and worked since January and have right at their fingertips a lot of great things. They've been disappointed a couple of times but they haven't lost their will to fight. This team hasn't lost its will to win and that's what I like."

Re: Parking for UT Vandy Game

Parking and especially tailgating are limited on the Vanderbilt University campus. For Tennessee fans planning larger tailgate pre-game parties or looking for RV parking at Vandy, contacting Harris-Hillman School, located directly across from the south side of campus about three blocks from Vanderbilt Stadium. The school typically hosts visiting fans; phone (615) 298-8085 for further information.

Fannie Mae Dees Park is a Nashville public park about a block away from Harris-Hillman. The park provides an excellent picnic setting, but alcoholic beverages and parking on its grass are prohibited. Violators are subject to citations and/or arrest by Nashville police.

There also is parking available in the various on-campus parking garages. Click here for further parking information:

Re: UT Vandy Game

Fulmer announced Friday that game captains for Saturday's contest at Vanderbilt are offensive guard David Ligon, defensive tackle Turk McBride, linebacker Marvin Mitchell, offensive tackle Arron Sears and placekicker James Wilhoit.

My Game Plan
Looks like I'm taking the whole family to the game. It'll the 1st time my 2 younger kids have been to a ballgame.

My 9 year old, Reagan, has been to a game before. Reagan says she's gonna be pulling for Vandy with my Dad

My 6 year old, Kendall, is trying to get on my good side by wearing a UT cheerleader outfit to the game. Told her she gets an extra treat at the game for that & Reagan will get none

3 yr old Trent keeps asking if Peyton will be playing, lol.

I'll try to have a few pictures to post after the game.

I have a felling Tennessee is going to destroy Vanderbilt. Revenge game for Tennessee right here.

Re: UT Vandy Game

Great day for a game. Took the whole family plus my Dad (a Vandy fan) and had a great time.

Here's Trent (3) and me on the way to the stadium

Here's all 5 of us in our seats:

Here's Reagan (9), Trent (3) & Kendall (6) near the end of the game

Re: UT Vandy Game

Nice. Got one problem.

Why wear a Red sox hat? Yankees > Sox.

Re: UT Vandy Game

Got to http://www.goteamsgo.com/forum/bosto...me-fenway.html on free tickets earlier this year & bought a hat there. I really enjoy MLB but I'm not particularly fervent about any one team. I'd love to get to Yankee Stadium & get a NY hat

My Vols hats are all getting old & dirty so wore that hat today. Maybe someone will buy me one of the cool Tennessee Vols hats from the GoVolsGo store for Christmas
