Hope this is the right area for this post...

I am going to my first UT game on the 1st and was looking for parking/tailgating information. I want to make this an event.

I would be grateful for ANY help...

parking/tailgating

Sil,

As for parking, you can find it depending on how much you want to pay. The closer to the stadium the more you pay. The average is around $15. I generally park off 17th Street. Down near Cumberland Avenue, A.K.A. "The Strip" has some parking lots with tailgaters. Most any parking lot within a mile or two will have some. Hope you trip is a great one.

JB

rmjvol is an unknown quantity at this point
...

Also, a few more things:

Be prepared to walk

And if the weather looks like it has any remote possibly of rain, be sure to bring your own rain gear. All of east TN will be sold out; trust me, I know from a previous experience.

(Last year's FL game...me and a buddy headed out and forgot to pack ours...we stopped at every Walgreen's/convenience store/Wal-Mart/etc. on the way to Knoxville...not even an emergency poncho! Best we could muster was large garbage bags with head and arm holes torn in them...which managed to keep us dry for -2 seconds. We took them off at halftime and just admitted our defeat (both for the Vols, and us keeping dry)...the game sucked, the weather sucked, the FL fans (we were in the FL section on the 4th row, BTW) sucked...but it was a great experience I would never trade! So much fun!)
