VOLS COME UP SHORT AGAINST LSU, 28-24 :: Robert Meachem hauls in two TDs with 121 yards receiving

In a game of Southeastern Conference heavyweights, a 4-yard touchdown pass from JaMarcus Russell to Early Doucet with nine seconds remaining in the fourth quarter lifted the No. 13 LSU Tigers to a 28-24 victory over the No. 8 Tennessee Volunteers before a crowd of 106,333 at Neyland Stadium. The Volunteers turned up the defensive pressure in the contest by forcing four turnovers, including three interceptions; one returned 31 yards for a touchdown by Demetrice Morley. Jonathan Crompton threw two touchdown passes to Robert Meachem who finished with 121 yards receiving.
