Re: UT vs LSU

Some more from Fulmer:

Quote:
"We still don't have any solid say exactly what we're going to do, but I'd say it certainly looks like he's going to play."

"Jonathan is talented and has done extremely well and is ready to play. So either one of them that's out there, I expect them to do the job."

"Obviously, Jonathan with the experience level against the No. 1 defense in the country, that's not exactly how you want to start your career, he'll get some time."

"Erik being a little bit on the gimpy side, although I believe he'll be fine to play, that's not exactly the kind of defense you want to go against. But that's where we are, and I think we can take that and make it into a positive."

Re: UT vs LSU

This morning's Knoxville News-Sentinel indicated that Ainge was just about all the way back to full strength. They'll probably use a little extra tape on his ankle for tomorrow's game. After all, they don't depend on him for running anyway.

Re: UT vs LSU

I am still feeling that we can go away with this game. We are too tough of a team to let them take it !!!! Even if we lose, I will be upset, but all of my blood will bleed orange !! WIN OR LOSE...GO VOLS !!!!!!!!!

Re: UT vs LSU

Defense did a bend but they dodn't break on the 1st couple series. Ainge started & is making the passes but the (normally great) receivers have dropped about 3 that they should have easily caught.

0-0

Re: UT vs LSU

10-7 Vols at the half. Looks like Crompton's in; he threw a 2nd quarter touchdown to Meachem, and Tennessee took the lead just before the half on a Wilhoit field goal. Not able to watch the game; when was Ainge pulled, and is Crompton playing well enough to lead UT to a win?

hehe, thanks for chiming in... scoreboard, baby... recordbook, baby

Aigne looked "good enough" until he was sacked in the 2nd qtr. His ankle was the focus of the sack & he came up really limping. Crompton came in & hasn't looked great, poor passes, scambling for a loss when he should have thrown away... but he's been able to move the ball a bit, plus he tossed a huge TD to ... was that Swain? on 3rd & long from about the 30 or so.

Britton Colquit has been a big difference maker in the game. We're wining the punting game hands down.

Speaking of punts, Vols caught a break when one of our guys had slight, unintentional contact of a punt to us that went into the endzone for a touchback. From the replay, I'm 75% sure the refs blew the call. They reviewed & did not overturn so we got the ball on the 20.

Hefney got a interception when LSU was driving for a TD. That led to Crompton driving to the 6 & we got the go ahead field goal at the end of the half.

Great college football game.

Re: UT vs LSU

Re: UT vs LSU

Would have been a perfect finish if we'd stopped LSU from scoring the TD with 9 seconds left.

Damn. A great college football game but we lost.

Re: UT vs LSU

Well........We got outplayed.......Chavus got outcoached.....We couldn't tackle.....and LSU "wanted it" just a little more than we did! Crompton played well. but we dropped too many balls early on, to maintain a momentum, like that of the Tigers!

Re: UT vs LSU

Does UT win this game with a healthy Ainge at QB instead of Crompton?

Re: UT vs LSU

A healthy Ainge may have inspired the offense to some degree, but It wouldn't have helped our defensive wo's! We missed tackles and dropped crucial passes!
