Looks like the Erik Ainge ankle injury is gonna be fine.

Fulmer said that both an xray and an MRI on Ainge's right ankle were negative for serious damage. He should be getting normal snaps in practice leading up to the LSU game this weekend.

What did you guys think about this injury? It looked like it was a busted play when he got hurt. The tackle made me wince to see it.

The bad news is that LSU leads the SEC with 26 sacks so Erik better be mobile on Saturday.

I think Eric will be fine for Sat. against LSU. I really just wished our line could run block. I played offensive guard and I don't understand how anyone can pass block so good and stink at run blocking. If we can't run the ball we could very well be in trouble.

I was hoping he'd be fine but now I'm a little concerned. Fulmer's doing too much with Crompton this week to make me confident that Ainge will be 100% for the UT vs LSU game on Saturday.

well i believe that it wasnt a good play call on the play ainge was injured but he has gone through alot and he will want to play u saw him wanting in during the sc game he'll be fine

Erik Ainge said a bad ankle won't keep him out of Tennessee's matchup with LSU on Saturday. The eighth-ranked Vols also hope their quarterback won't be limited by the injury as they try to keep pace in the SEC title picture.

""It's a day-to-day type thing. I'm feeling good. I'm not worried about if I miss a day of practice or two days of practice that I wouldn't be physically on my game," Ainge said. "Most of my preparation game week is always mental, so if anything, I could do more of that which could end up helping me out.""

Erik wanted to play against LSU but I'm wishing we had started Crompton. I know, hindsight's 20/20...

Erik looked good at times but it was easy to see that he wasn't as mobile as he needed to be and then the sack that took him out happened. Fulmer says that his left ankle is also sprained so now he's questionable for the Arkansas game.

Coach Phillip Fulmer said Ainge's left ankle also was injured, but he was waiting Sunday night on more specifics about the injury.

"I don't have any update right now. I do expect to just a little bit later in the evening. Then we'll decide kind of a plan of action," Fulmer said.

Fulmer was unsure about Ainge playing until the day of the game.
