| .... Well, as a general rule, NFL players usually perform at a higher standard than college players, seeing as how only the best college players make it to the field in NFL.
The team that takes Clausen will most likely have a better O-Line (better than the one UT has, which is an average college line at best) and better receivers (the leading receiver is a backup QB, and the second-leading receiver is a converted DB). Last year we had Washington, but he liked to run his mouth and never really backed it up that much; he stayed hurt too often.
I kinda think Clausen could do fairly well in the NFL. He's exactly what NFL coaches want; a pocket-passer. Very few teams have gone with mobile QBs in the NFL, and out of the few that have, an even smaller number of those are actually winning, and when they are, it's usually on the arms of the QBs.
McNair was once considered a mobile QB, and while he still is to some extense, he's certainly matured into a pocket threat as well, and that's made the Titans' offense that much more potent. |
