Just thought i would throw this out and see what kind of responses i would get. Does anyone think that the Vols could actually win the national championship once again? Personally i think that if they play to their full potential that they could definately contend and even win the national championship. Just let me know what you guys think.

They will need to play perfect every game...especially against LSU and Georgia, and we won't even open the book on Miami.

As much as I would like to see this happen, it is highly unlikely. There are just so many tough games on the schedule this year. Tennessee's defense played an incredible game against Florida, but can they do that against teams with more powerful offenses (Miami, LSU if get to SEC Champ.). It will take some pretty explosive numbers as well from Tennessee's offense, which I don't see happening (love the running game, still feel we have a pretty weak passing attack).

It's too early in the season to be able to tell, but it sure seems like the Vols have a chance to be national champions. This early in the season it is hard to tell how good the teams around the country really are. I don't think that they are a favorite but they definitly have a chance. Why? Because there aren't many teams that appear to stand out and be way better than everybody. Oklahoma seems to be a dominant team, but many of the other top teams seem like they are just waiting for someone to beat them. I think this year the national title race is wide open and the Tennessee Vols have just as good of a chance as anyone else.

It appears Auburn said no and then Georgia drove the nail in the coffin for Tennessee. Even if Tennessee were to win the rest of their games and Georgia were to somehow lose two of their remaining SEC games, the answer is still a definate NO! You know why? The Volunteers just are not good enough. They are going to lose against Miami and could even get upset by Alabama or Kentucky. Georgia is the best team in the SEC and will be for years to come so get used to it Tennessee. You guys have always been good at crying so now you get your chance to excell in what you are good at and that is the silver lining.
