Missing...

Police are searching for the toys Vince Young threw out of his crib yesterday, as he stomped his feet and cried about wanting to play somewhere other than Tennessee if he is not the main guy.

The one time Longhorn and Titans GOD! Has now come out and indirectly said that if the team no longer wants him, e.g. he will not be a starter, than he wants to be somewhere else.

In a radio interview, VY said that "if them guys don't want me, its time for me to change my career..."

Now there are so many factors contributing to why this is so bad for him:

1. He is going to lose support from the fans, because you don't dictate what you want as a third year player and as Rod Woodson said "no one in the NFL is assured a starting place in a team..."
2. He annoys the players and backroom staff of the Titans
3. He has 4 years left on his contract so the Titans can effectively say he will be on the practice squad for that duration
4. Which team would want a QB that will come out and say something like that after only 1 year playing as a starter?
5. If or when he does come in to play, he will have to be playing like a Hall of Fame...All Pro...Footballing God, because of all the stuff he has said, all the rights he is claiming to have to be a starter and everything he did last year

So if this happened to your team, what would you want to see happen? Or what do you think should happen now?

Re: Missing...

I say let him go! The Titans don't need the drama.

When they drafted Vince, I thought they made a mistake. Not purely because they got him, but they gave up McNair (who was injured most of the year prior) but also lost Volick (who may have not been the greastest QB but handled the position well in McNair's absence).

You haven't really explained why it was such a bad thing drafting Vince though?

I mean losing McNair was tough because he could have been the best mentor to Vince but he was to injury prone to be a starter until Vince was ready...and Volek in my opinion, was a capable QB but is a third stringer at best

Re: Missing...

Following on from yesterdays incident Vince Youngs agent has come out and said that Vince does not want to be traded by the Titans, he has said that he is more than willing to fight for the starting position in Tennessee.

It would seem as though the media has once again over blown the comments Vince made, what he said was:

"Definitely I want to be in there playing ball and picking up where I left off, winning games and having a good time with my teammates and fans"

Vince's agent, who has the coolest name in the world 'Major Adams' , has said that from when the Titans first drafted, he was told he would have to compete for the number one QB position and he would be ok with that

I knew I spelled Volek wrong, but it wouldn't come to me!

I think they put all their eggs into the Vince Young basket. It seemed to me like they were willing to give up their veteran guys because the thought Vince would be the next Michael Vick.

Re: Missing...

I dont think drafting Vince was a mistake. There was no way to tell at that time.
But from what I read, it sounded to me like he shot off his mouth and then maybe cooler heads prevailed and told him to chill.
The media overplays everything, but still, there has been a couple of issues with this young man. Kind of puts a little question mark in your mind.
If he did indeed say anything like this, it was major stupid.
Remember how long Romo sat on the bench. Vince might need a little more time to grow up and into his role.

Re: Missing...

I don't see what the big deal is...all he's saying is he wants to play...that's a good thing in my opinion, what QB doesn't want to be the starter? He's also since spoken on espn as well and cleared things up saying that he wants to be a titan and is still loyal to the team, just was saying that he's ready and I think he will get a chance to prove himself this season. Titans got some tough games right off the bat and if they start losing I wouldn't be surprised if there was a switch at QB, I'm interested to see how this issue pans out.
