| Titans To Look At Kerry Collins Less than two weeks before the start of the regular season, the Titans are preparing to add another quarterback to the mix in veteran Kerry Collins. Dialogue between the two sides heated up over the weekend, and plans were being made on Sunday for Collins to visit Baptist Sports Park in the coming days to take a physical, according to sources familiar with talks between the two sides. If Collins passes the physical and the two sides can agree to terms on a contract, he could be on the roster before the team's final preseason game at Green Bay on Friday. | Re: Titans To Look At Kerry Collins Isn't this the same Kerry Collins who had a few good seasons in New York, and everyone hailed his "comeback"? Same guy, right? Collins is a good enough QB, and the Titans had been talking about adding him before the preseason. Thought those talks fell through, but it looks like maybe he's headed to Tennessee after all. Personally, I like the signing. He's no Joe Montana, but then again, he's no Rob Johnson either. A steady, mediocre or slightly better quarterback.

yeah it would have been great to aquire a vet like Ty Law to command the cornerbacks cos even though we got Chris Hope i still think we need some leadership and experience in the cornerback department. you break down our defense and you have Haynsworth and Vanden Bosch leading the line. 3 great EXPERIENCED linebackers in Bulluck, Thornton and Sirmon. then there is a big very important inexperienced gap where our corners our. finally ending with Tank Williams and Chris Hope in the back. so what does this mean? we have to keep moving Hope and Williams up to support the corner backs exposing the deep pass? drop the linebacks a bit freeing up room for big running gains? but i think the real inexperience is highlighted by 1. the amount of penalties Pacman Jones allowed last year and also the amount of 1-on-1 passes on our corner backs that led to big gains and/or TD's |
