Vince Young the Next Michael Vick

So is the Titans Vince Young the next Michael Vick style quarterback for the NFL?

There's been plenty of comparisons but VY blows it off.
Quote:
“I’m Vince. He’s Mike. I support him a whole lot because he opened a lot of doors for me as well as other quarterbacks, young guys coming up. In a way, I’m a little bit different. I’m 6-5. I’m lanky. He’s a little smaller back,” Young said.
We'll get to see both of them on the same field when the TN Titans host the Falcons this Saturday.

VY says he's a fan of Vick but that he's more likely to pass than run, kinda opposite of Vick's tendencies.

I'm hoping to the best of both worlds. I want to see more success from VY than Vick has brught to the Falcons. But I also want to see some sportscenter highlights from Young. Hopefully there will be both passing highlights and scrambles to see.

Maybe they are both the latest version of Randall Cunningham?...In fact the taller Cunnigham in his heyday might be a better comparison period...I took Vick as a backup QB in the GOTeamsGO league...he is backing Manning...which shows how much his stock has fallen,

Re: Vince Young the Next Michael Vick

Cunningham had passing skills. If Vick didnt run he would have been cut long ago. I see Vince Young being just like Vick...a runningback who passes once in a while.

i think that VY doesnt want to add to the pressure of coming into a team he KNOWNS will be developed around him in the next few years, being a 3rd round pick and having people waiting for him to make mistakes so they can comment on them, by comparing himself to another NFL QB. i think (well i hope) he will be more of a Steve McNair kind of player who is 90% passing and uses his feet to make plays WHEN HE HAS TOO

Welcome Aboard Alex83.

I think Young is a bit more moible that McNair...and as long as they are willing to slide out of a tackle instead of gaining an extra yard...I would welcome seeing Young get 600 or 700 yards on the ground...it will make his passing that more effective.

Or he could rely too much on his legs ala Vick.

Re: Vince Young the Next Michael Vick

I think Vince Young will throw more than Vick would. I don't think he will be quite as effective running the ball as Vick, because he is fast, but not as fast as Vick is.

For Young's sake, I hope he's better than Michael Vick

In my opinion, Michael Vick is one of the most exciting players to watch in the NFL because he somehow runs right past defenders into the endzone. When the defenders do catch up to him, they bend him in half like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The only problem that has sliced his career is his lack of health which means that he is injured for most of the time. You can compare him to Grant Hill of the NBA since they both get injured and miss a lot of the regular season which makes you worry about their return the next season.

I've seen a few games of Vince Young and they seem to share the same kind of playing-style even though Young relies on the air more often.

I think Michael Vick is underrated. His recievers are awful.

Finneran is alright, but the others are dispicable. Peerless Price was good but they obviously didn't like him.
