| Titans Report Card 2008 - Offense Quarterbacks: #5 K.Collins Probably didnt expect to see much playing time since signing with the team last year, but after being throw in in the deep end when Vince went down he did a FANTASTIC job leading the team, passing was mostly on target and liked seeing him running when he had to. Grade: A+ #10 V.Young I think his injury at the beginning of the season saw Vince make the transition from boy to man. After accepting he would have to sit on the bench, Vince took it on the chin and patiently waited his turn. I think this is the beginning of something special when Vince is finally unleashed Grade: N/A #2 C.Simms Nice having someone like him as a 3rd string QB and would have been nice if he came back for another year. But I wish him well Grade: N/A Running Backs: #28 C.Johnson CJ exploded on to the scene after some people were slightly confused why we took a running back in the first round. But his combination of speed and quick feet make every Titans fan smile when he gets the ball. Also makes a good slot receiver and return man. Would have liked to see him get a few more TDs though Grade: A #25 L.D.White Saw fewer carries this year, but saw a major increase in TDs and I think his relationship with CJ is the beginning of something new. And I think the highlight of every Titans fans season was seeing him rumbling, bumbling and stumbling on that breakaway 80 year run. Grade: A- #35 Q.Ganther Deserves a special mention because after years of biding his time in the practice squad, Q won a place on the roster this season and came in for some running plays and made a good third string RB and backup FB Grade: C+ Fullback #45 A.Hall One of the most underrated players on the roster, Hall did the job he was meant to do, he protected Kerry, opened up holes for CJ and LenDale and even contributed with a few catches and runs Grade: B+ Wide Receivers #81 B.Jones Unfortunately no longer with the team, Jones saw limited time on the field this year yet led the team in receptions, but when he was called upon he made almost every catch including some vitals ones in the run up to the end of the season. Would have been nice to keep him with us but thanks for the catches last season. Grade: B+ #12 J.Gage Big things were expected from the lanky Gage when he came to us from Da Bears and this season showed us what we can expect while he is in the team. The big receiver had a team high 6 receiving TDs and 600+ receiving and seems like a great target from both Vince and Kerry. Grade: A #19 J.McCairens Like with Javon Kearse, Titans fans did not know what to expect with Justin returned to the team. But the veteran receiver did his job, caught 30 balls and went over 400+ yards for the season, but is yet to have a receiving TD for his new/old team Grade: B #87 L.Hawkins Much was discussed about this guy before the season began but unfortunately we did not get to see much of him during last year. In the games he did appear he made an impact so from the conversations being had about him, coupled with his brief appearances on the field, i think we could have a good little receiver on our hands Grade: N/A Tight Ends #83 A.Crumpler The veteran proved to be a good asset to the team. After a good season with the Troupe/Scaife partnership, some Titans fans feared it would be a flash in the pan, onetime thing...but the Crumpler/Scaife tandem proved just as effective with Crump becoming a safe target for Kerry Grade: B # 80 B.Scaife Finished the year leading the team in receptions and coming in second in receiving yards. We saw what he could do last year and he has built on that this year becoming one of the most important factors in the teams passing offense and no doubt when Vince comes back he will see more chances to catch the ball Grade: A Offensive Line #71 M.Roos, #54 E.Amano, #68 K.Mawae, #73 J.Scott, #76 D.Stewart Without doubt the best offensive line in the National Football League. Despite having two new additions at guard, this did not change anything and with veteran Mawae leading the team from the middle and the man mountains of Stewart and Roos anchoring the outsides, this offensive line should have ALL gone to Hawaii, but thankfully Roos finally got the recognition he deserved, as did Mawae, but Im sure it wont be long before all 5 are heading there. Despite all this however dont be surprised to see the Titans take a left guard and centre in the draft. Grade: A+
