Running Game

What is going to happen with the Titans running game this season? i was personally confused when we drafted LeDale White especially when we did so much to bring in Travis Henry last season. At first i thought we took him (White) so no other team would, and hold him in the roster until an oppertunity arises when another team will be willing to do wotever to sign him i.e. loosing their starting running back. Then i looked at the recievers, with the exception of Bennet and Givens, the rest our not very exprienced. i think what is going through Coach Fishers mind is to use Henry and Brown in the run game a lot more this season than he will use the pass game, just to give Volek ,and later Young, more experience under centre and should we need to use the pass game we have 2 reliable Tight Ends in Kinney and Troupe and Givens, Bennet and the younger recievers, and with regards to White, give him NFL experience whenever possible, a good option should Brown or Henry get injured and then possibly be a replacement for Brown if he eventually agrees a trade with someone. what other reason could there be for signing 1 reciever and drafting a very good running back so he can sit along side 3 other running backs (Henry, Brown & Payton) that could start for another other team. simply, i believe that the running game will be dominant in the offense but i dont think that 1. White will get a start 2. any of the running backs will get a 100 yard game (ok maybe one runnibg back will get one 100 yard game) and 3. when Vince Young plays more, he will gain more yards than Henry and White

Welcome Alex.

You know I like White...and I realize that the backfield was a bit full...but I think it was one of those things that if a player like White slid all the way down to the second round and became available that you take him regardless of the shape of your backfield.

And whats the problem with running back by committee?...It use to be done that way...look at the 1972 Dolphins for one...Csonka, Morris, Kick...The first two 1,000 yard backs (with minimal carries) the last good for 500 yards and a bunch of catches...I don't like the common thinking that you go with a featured back who gets 20-25 touches a game...there is room for other type of thinking.
