Hours after losing the best defensive player in the league the Titans agree a $15million deal with veteran QB Kerry Collins, who was also told he would be the starter next year. So how good is this deal? and how long will Collins remain the teams starter?

I don't like this deal at all. Well, I guess it depends if they sign Chris Simms or not too like they were planning on doing...which I hope they don't now. Anyways, I think its way too much money spent on him, I would've rather they went with Simms and VY and let them battle for the starting position. As for how long he'll be the starter I would imagine both seasons that he's on contract for, unless things really go bad for him, Fisher doesn't appear to be ready to start Young again any time soon so wouldn't surprise me if Collins was at the helm for the next two seasons, much to my displeasure.

im really not sure why youre so adamant about VY ....... he isnt a very good NFL QB imo .... really not ready to start yet and may never be a top 10 active QB

heck last season when he got hurt he was way off keel mentally .... what makes you so sure he isnt still ?

Well I'm not so sure that mentally he's where he needs to be...and that's fine that you don't think he's a very good QB...but I think he's got potential still...I guess I just want to see what he can do with the new players that they brought in particularly CJ...a better O-Line and Heimerdinger running the show...with maybe another established receiver...I find VY to be an exciting player and I just don't like how quickly he's been dropped out of the equation...although its maybe for the best for him to learn again for another year...but do you think Kerry is worth that much money? and do you think Simms will still be back then? would you like Simms back?

I dont think Kerry is worth that much money. And I still dont think he can start another year. I guess whether or not they keep Simms is how far along they think Young is.

dont get me wrong ..... i think VY is a nice kid and i agree he is a very exciting player ...... i just dont know if he is smart enough to be a really good NFL QB

VY ... Vick .... Kordell ...... all very exciting to watch .. yet none of them really good imo ..... i just dont find them very smart

as for the money they gave Kerry ...... i think the Titans were likely one of the top 3 teams in the AFC last season and i think he is a big reason why ...... so i am glad for them he is back .. i think he is their best option right now and they have much more pressing needs .... and i dont honestly pay close attention to salaries .. so what they paid to keep him means little to me

as for Simms ..... i dont really know that he ever really got a true chance with the Bucs .... he busted his spleen and they got rid of him .... so im not sold on him one way or another ...... Collins is a known quantity for them and the best choice at starter imo
