The Titans blew their AFC Divisional Playoff game against the Ravens yesterday, losing 13-10 despite outgaining the Ravens 391 yards to 211. Titans QB Kerry Collins was solid, though not outstanding, completing 62% of his passes for 281 yards and an interception.
Collins is a free agent this season, though there probably isn't another team in the NFL willing to give Collins a starting role. Collins has threatened that he'll retire if the Titans don't promise him the starting job. This is the perfect situation for Collins -- he's on a team that should be playoff-bound again next season, he doesn't have to carry the team on his back and he can demand that he's the starter. So what happens?
Kerry Collins is 14th in NFL history in Passing Yards, ahead of Jim Kelly, Phil Simms and Steve Young. He also has more career touchdown passes than Staubach, Starr, Aikman or Namath. the last i heard is that the titans were wanting to resign him and that collins wanted to stay in nashville

and as far as vy goes fisher has already said many times that vy is the future of this team so there isnt any question on vy's future

I hear the same as titans#1, Collins wants to stay with the Titans HOWEVER he says he will only stay if he can be the starter and coach Fisher has given an enrcypted clue in a recent press conference saying that "Kerry is a more than capable starter"...which basically means he thinks he can be a starter but hasn't said whether he will be the Titans starter

from what has been said, Young is still the franchise QB so i don't see us trading for him, not this year at least, Fisher has spoken very highly of Chris Simms so we may see Collins going out in the off season and Simms and Young battling for the starting position next year.

I would personally like Kerry to come back even if it is so that he can play for half a season and then hand over to Young...but only time will tell i suppose, we have a big salary cap to work with but still need to sign the likes of Albert Haynesworth

I'm hoping Kerry Collins doesn't come back. Yeah he had a nice season and 'led' the titans to the playoffs, but defence was huge this year as it was last year I won't deny that VY also had a lot of help last year with the way the defence played. I feel like Vince and Kerry didn't really get along that well, and maybe its time to cut ties with Kerry and let Vince take over. If VY is the future of the franchise, and I agree that he should be, then lets see what he can do this upcoming season. Chris Simms can back him up or perhaps step in when they need him to but I think Young needs to get his shot again. I would like to see what he and Chris Johnson can do together under the play calling of Heimerdinger and an improved O-Line, along with an established Gage and perhaps a drafted WR or free agent WR?

our offense last year was pretty damn good i thought.

Kerry was a big part of our success by leading the team and taking care of the football.

The titans defense this year was great but we cant be so sure next season after losing out def cord.

I agree I thought our offence did a pretty good job...although I questioned some of the play calling but anyways your right we may have some issues on defence with the loss of defensive coordinator and potentially haynesworth...which I hope they can resign him but I don't know something about making sure that a team can't put a franchise tag on you twice in a row tells me that he wants to go to the highest bidder.

I think he will be coming back. I heard on ESPN that the Kerry Collins has said he will retire unless he is offered a contract as a starting QB. I think the Titans will offer him that.
